Leylandii removal

A section of 35 large leylandii trees that were too large for there site, one had fallen during the high winds in january so the decision was made to fell them all.

Nearly there, some were removed in sections and some were felled

Finished, the client now gets light into the garden and house in the morning.

Fence and hedge

The construction of a couple of fences and planting of a beech/hawthorn mix hedge. the leylandii trees were felled first to make room for the new hedge. although the hedge plants are small they will get a good root system in this soil and grow well.

The fence was a slight challenge as it had three different levels to the garden

panels and a gate were installed at the driveway and to the side of the property

this was the side that the hedge was planted, the client being a very good neighbour put the good side of the fence facing away from there property

Spruce dismantle

Another tree in the wrong place, this spruce tree was possible planted as a small xmas tree but 30 year later and it has overgrown the house and outgrown the site, Time to be felled.

As you can see its far too large for its current site

The tree was cut one branch at a time because of the space available

The stump was left at this height to support a flowering vine

Wire fence for boundry

This section of fence had fallen down so we were asked to make a new one that was a bit more substatial, all the posts were driven into the ground 2 feet and the strainers (the bigger posts) were put in 3 feet, the fence was then strung with 5 strands of barb wire.

once the old fence was removed, the posts were sat in place to measure the overall length

the completed fence, this will last a long time as all the timber is treated and the wire is galvanised.

Banking clearance

This was an area in a school that had overgrown and alot had collapsed with the weight of the snow last year, so the decision was made to fell all of them, as these were mostly laurel they will grow back well from the stump next season.

Chestnut and Sycamore removal

Chestnuts had to be felled as they were infected with Phytophthora, the sycamore was felled as it had substantial dead wood and a heavy lean towards the other properties, so after the chestnuts were removed this tree would have been exposed to full force of the wind, so the decision was made to fell.

I would like to add that all the wood went to fire wood or got milled to be used at a later date, i would also like to thank the client for taking the photos of the full job.

New fence

This was a fence we constructed on a site where we previously removed all the trees, the existing fence was in a bad state of repair so it was removed and a new one constructed in its place

Felling for access

These trees were felled to allow access to a new driveway for a development site, once the site is complete more trees will be planted to allow for the loss. The trees had to be climbed and sectioned, as they had a lean towards the road and phone wires running through them.

The finished job, the roots will be removed via a digger when the groundworks commence

This was a rather overgrown and neglected band of trees and hedging that was on the outskirts of a new local authority housing estate, these had to be removed to facilitate the construction of a new fence.
